Community and Relationships

Our goal is to create an atmosphere of love and acceptance where Christ's love can be exercised in fellowship. We also want to encourage people to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and become committed members of His family, both universally and locally.

God calls for full devotion to Christ and commitment to His church. We yearn for the authentic continual growth that occurs when we submit to the Holy Spirit, practice spiritual disciplines and enter into accountable relationships

Some of the benefits of the fellowship here at New Day Community Church of the Nazarene are:

  • Being identified as a genuine believer. (Ephesians 2:19 and Romans 12:5)
  • Being a part of a spiritual family. (Galatians 6:1-2 and Hebrews 10:24-25)

We are a community of Christ-followers sharing life together in committed relationships in the context of all kinds of small groups. In these groups loving biblical relationships are developed and experienced, as every member knows each other and is known, loves each other and is loved, serves each other and is served, encourages each other and is encouraged. In small groups we are challenged to grow to become more like Jesus Christ in attitude, character, and behavior.

Here at New Day Community Church, we are working to build loving, lasting relationships. It is through these relationships that God provides friendship, acceptance, encouragement, and support.

MATURITY – Growing

Christian Education and Personal Disciplines

Our goal is to create an environment of learning for pre-schoolers to senior adults alike: to encourage Christians at all levels of their faith walks to grow in knowledge and in spirit. To help the development and practice of healthy biblical disciplines.

Christian Education

  • To provide up-to-date materials that makes learning about Christ exciting and new.
  • To provide training to teachers so that they not only assist others in growing in Christ, but are able to grow spiritually themselves.
  • To glorify God in an environment of spiritual education (1 Corinthians 2:13)
  • To assist others in learning about Christ and giving their lives to Him.

Prayer and Fasting
… Because prayer aligns us with God’s will, and unleashes the Spirit’s work in and through us. We believe God will do great things through our church when we pray. Prayer should punctuate our conversations, and fuel our lives and ministry.

Preaching, Teaching and Personal Bible Study
… The word of God is truth. It is the primary catalyst for transformation in an individual Christian’s life. Each Christian should be growing more like Jesus. We want to “renew our minds” by knowing God’s word, so we are able to discern God’s will. Doctrine and the study of Scripture is emphasized, and Biblical preaching is a priority.

Unity
…while celebrating our Diversity. We cherish unity in the truth of God’s word, the essentials of the faith, a common experience of grace in salvation, and a biblical vision for His church. Our diversity arises from ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, and in these distinctions we find diversity to be celebrated. We welcome all people, to grow with us at New Day Community.

Stewardship
… God owns everything. He has entrusted time, resources and abilities to us to manage for His glory. We believe that it is important to give generously, systematically, proportionately and willingly, not out of guilt or compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. As a church we invest resources with integrity and accountability.

MINISTRY -- Serving

Meeting Needs and Helping Others

We are committed to assisting people discover their individual passions and giftedness; detailing and describing their skills, talents and personalities' To then match their personal profiles to areas where they will be most likely to engage in effective and fulfilling service.

We are a community of servants stewarding our spiritual gifts. We see life as a calling of servanthood, not only discovering and serving in areas of giftedness, but also helping where needs arise. Our leaders serve by equipping the Body to do the work of ministry, because all members are ministers. Excellence honors God and inspires people: Therefore, everything we do at New Day will be done diligently, enthusiastically and heartily, as a sacrifice of praise to our Lord and King. Every Christian has been given at least one spiritual gift, as we discover and practice it, we will all enjoy the fulfillment of serving Christ well, for His glory.

Ministry is at the heart of our efforts here at New Day Community. We don't want you to be frightened or turned off by our use of the word "ministry". The truth is, we want to HELP YOU be a minister: not a Pastor or a preacher - a MINISTER. What we mean is caring for each other, helping when help is needed.

That can be done in many ways:

  • Teaching a class
  • Playing a musical instrument
  • Managing a soup kitchen
  • Assisting in an office making copies or mailing letters
  • Raking leaves
  • Shoveling snow
  • Setting up chairs
  • Washing dishes
  • The list goes on and on
The Nike company tells us to' "just do it," and we agree. If we were swimming we'd say, "Come on in the water's fine!!" The Bible, in the book of Ephesians, tells the church to, " …prepare people for works of service so that the body of Christ can be built up…joined and held together as each part does it's work". That's the kind of rubber meets the road directive that you gotta like. Get ready, work together, be united!! In addition to the work in this church, the Ministry department is constantly on the lookout for opportunities to involve members New Day Community in compassionate outreach right here in our local community as well as to places on the foreign mission field.

MISSION -- Sharing

A Heart For The Lost

God loves people everywhere, and so do we. Our mission is to reach them with the good news of Jesus Christ; to help them become devoted followers of Christ, and to equip them to lead others to become followers of Christ as well. (Acts 20:24).

• In our Community
We have a passion to reach the people of our own community -- our friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and anyone that God brings to us -- with the life-changing message of Jesus. In the power of the Spirit, we will present the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that is culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally sound.
• Around the world
We have a passion to help build the body of Christ in all cultures, nations, and people groups throughout the world. As a “mission-minded” church, our members are praying, partnering, giving and going, in order to reach the world for Christ. The Church of the Nazarene is renowned for sponsoring well organized and effective international missions efforts.

We at New Day Community feel strongly about reaching out to others. It's not a hobby for us, it's our lifestyle! Our job is to plan, promote, and organize whatever it takes to reach our community and our world for Christ.

MAGNIFY -- Worshiping

Bringing Glory to God

To live a lifestyle that includes a healthy balance of praise and worship for our Heavenly Father.

We come together to express our worship to God. We focus on God and bring glory to him with genuine participation, maintaining a healthy balance of worship forms from the Church’s rich history, diverse present and unfolding future.

We believe that God inhabits the praises of His people. One of our primary objectives as both individual Christians, and as a fellowship of believers, is to magnify and worship Him. We strive to enable believers to live a lifestyle that includes a healthy balance of praise and worship for our Heavenly Father.

The music we use in our services is contemporary in nature; complete with guitars, drums and synthesized electronic keyboards. We use video equipment to project images upon a large screen. Our praise singers and worship band are easy to follow, so everyone can participate in the worship celebration.

Each service is specially designed to be a relevant to our lives and the world we live in. Some of the elements we include in our services are:
